Description

Participants in 3 categories (families, kids aged 6-11, kids 12 and up) were encouraged to test their engineering skills. The challenge was to design a way to land their lunar modules which carried an egg inside. The Johnston Fire Department brought their ladder truck. Two firefighters dropped the "lunar modules" up 50 feet and dropped them. Eggs that survived were then dropped from 100 feet. Prizes were awarded to the entries that survived the two egg drops intact. This was the finale event for the "Visions of the Universe" traveling exhibit. Library staff member Jessica Young is shown in three photos wearing a bright blue t-shirt.
